A Quinceañera for Steph.

Kollin threw Stephanie a Quinceañera for reaching four million followers on pinterest. He went all out with a bouncy house to enter the building (which Oliver loved), balloons mexican music and drinks. Everyone dressed up to celebrate and Kollin even showed us his mad beat boxing skills. It was a night to remember.

Becoming a Pro.

Liam is getting better and better with using his utensils. He has now started to refuse to eat his food unless he has a fork\spoon in hand. Ozzie makes sure to stay nearby to take care of any prospects that hit the ground. What a great dog. Liam’s favorite thing to eat is chili and rice, or pasta. Pretty much every meal is one of those two options. We’re just happy he is off the bottle finally.

Amish Frienship Bread

We have been enjoying some delicious Amish Friendship Bread for the past several weeks. It’s a sweet bread and quite the satisfying snack. We received a starter bag from Brett’s cousin weeks ago. From that one bag you get two loaves and four new starter bags. You give three to friends and keep one so you have fresh bread every 10 days! And it smells delightful. I have tried the shredded carrots variation but cut back on the amount next time. It was too carrot-y for my taste. To start your own Amish Friendship Bread check out this recipe I found on I have also included the Amish Frienndship Bread recipe we received with our starter. It has some variations that you can add in at the bottom of the page that enjoying.

1 (.25 ounce) package active dry yeast
1/4 cup warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
3 cups all-purpose flour, divided
3 cups white sugar, divided
3 cups milk

  1. In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in water. Let stand 10 minutes. In a 2 quart container glass, plastic or ceramic container, combine 1 cup flour and 1 cup sugar. Mix thoroughly or flour will lump when milk is added. Slowly stir in 1 cup milk and dissolved yeast mixture. Cover loosely and let stand until bubbly. Consider this day 1 of the 10 day cycle. Leave loosely covered at room temperature.
  2. On days 2 thru 4; stir starter with a spoon. Day 5; stir in 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar and 1 cup milk. Days 6 thru 9; stir only.
  3. Day 10; stir in 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar and 1 cup milk. Remove 1 cup to make your first bread, give 2 cups to friends along with this recipe, and your favorite Amish Bread recipe. Store the remaining 1 cup starter in a container in the refrigerator, or begin the 10 day process over again



stuff is starting to pile up on my to do list. literally. but how can it not? with beautiful weather, two kids to enjoy, and a life to live. i’ll eventually get caught up, stay caught up, get distracted, and start this cycle again. but i know liam is a happy camper while i put my daily chores on hold and push him around in his cozy coupe. here’s to the weekend!
